Online Project Based Learning

Online project-based learning brings the world into the classrooms. It enables students to learn first hand about, with and from others about a specific real life topic.
Students usually work in small groups to research the topic they have selected through a leading question. Often their research extends to activities outside the classroom such as conducting interviews, doing scientific tests or meeting with field experts. They gather information from a variety of sources and, analyze, synthesize and construct their knowledge from it.
They exchange information with their online peers and are involved in comparative analysis of results and draw conclusions which they present in a final product. The final outcome of a project varies widely but often includes art work, multimedia presentations, essays, reports and recommendations.
In project based learning, students improve their research and problem solving, communication and collaborative skills. They are motivated to achieve and take ownership of their learning. Through online project-based learning take pride in their heritage, culture, values and identity. They develop a strong sense of global citizenship.
