The Concept of Learning Circles

The concept of learning circles is decades old and is used in various contexts that could be either face-to-face or online. The online learning circle concept was created by Dr Margaret Riel.

In general, a learning circle gathers a small number of people to share their ideals, goals, practices in an open and neutral environment. The over-arching goals of learning circles are to create meaningful dialogue and an in-depth exchange of ideas about any topic to help participants develop new practices or action plans that they can take back to their community to initiate.
